Mommy's Bringing Sexy Back: Dropping the Baby Fat!
August 25, 2015
Now that it has been a year since I had my son and the weight is still hanging on, I had to do something. I tried eating healthy, different quick shred diets, weight loss programs, and weight loss supplements but everything was only temporary and I really struggled. Before I got pregnant, I weighed 140lbs. At the end of my pregnancy, I weighed 160lbs. Post pregnancy, I had only lost 10lbs and that 150lbs was so embarrassing; not at first, but as time went on and I noticed I couldn't fit any of my old clothes and was restricted to wearing baggy sweats, medium t-shirts, dresses, and leggings.
All of my old clothes were size small and when trying to get back into them, all I could see was love handles and my bulging belly. After I healed from my pregnancy I tried the 8 week #FBFFitnessChallege (http://fbffitness.com/challenge-details/). I didn't reach my goal weight but I did lose 5 lbs. I quickly gained that right back due to my hectic lifestyle. It was so hard trying to eat healthy homecooked meals when I had a newborn, was a full time grad student, and fulfilled my leadership role in the nonprofit mentoring organization I'm apart of. It wasn't made any better when my honey had a couple days off from his busy work schedule each week and wanted to spend the time going out to dinner. So I quickly gained that 5lbs back.
I also did the cabbage soup diet....again. I tried it in college and it did work. I lost 10 lbs from that in college. This time around though, I had no luck. I lost 5lbs again and was very discourgaed and hungry all the time. I was so tired of cabbage I wnted to puke. I suppose I didn't lose as much weight as I had doing the diet before because I wasn't as active. In college I had 3 jobs, danced, and did a lot of walking on the campus of MSU. Nowadays, I spend most of my time sitting doing my homework or playing with my son which does not take much work at all.
Now that my birthday is 6 weeks away, I have decided that finally losing the weight will be my gift to myself. I plan to eat clean, exercise 3-5 days a week, and keep myself positive and busy to keep my mind off of the stress that leads me to unhealthy food.
Follow my weight loss journey as I attempt to lose 15 lbs in 6 weeks. Over the next 6 weeks I will share my tips, struggles, resources, recipes, exercising plans, and schedule to drop the weight plus a little more left over from my pregnancy. By my birthday, I better be one hot mama!
